The Kirchenwirt in Aigen im Ennstal is surrounded by the peaks of the Rottenmanner and Wölzer Tauern to the south and the Totes Gebirge to the north. Somewhat farther away are the Gesäuse to the east and the Dachstein massif to the west.
The valley is dominated by the Grimming: part of the Dachstein mountains ,this massif rises up in the middle of an otherwise flat valley bottom, always serving as a breathtaking natural backdrop regardless of the weather.
