Saint Florian's Church is located close to our hotel. It features modern architecture that catches your eye immediately.
The play of color created by the glass elements, the free-standing church tower and the grass-covered roof are unique features of Styria's newest church, which was built in 1992 and is "responsible" for us re-christening our business as the "Kirchenwirt".
Located just a few minutes' walk from the Kirchenwirt is the Putterersee, the warmest alpine moorland lake in Styria. With its outstanding water quality, this lake is an Eldorado for bathers of all ages.
At this natural jewel, aside from swimming you can also enjoy fishing, surfing, boating and, in winter, ice skating as well as a game of ice hockey or "ice stock". A beach-volleyball court and children's playground add to the fun recreational opportunities.

The nucleus of Saint John's Church in Hohenberg is thought to be the oldest church building in Ennstal, located in a section of Aigen known as Hohenberg. Particularly noteworthy: the winged altar, a work by Lienhard Astl, created in the year 1520.
As a memorial to the many who perished or were wounded during the Battle of Stalingrad, the Austrian Stalingrad Society and OSR Dir. Hable had the Stalingrad Cross and Chapel built here at 1100 m above sea level.
The Divining-Rod Path in Aigen-Hohenberg was opened in 1995. It is four kilometers in length, features nine different interactive stations, and takes about 3 hours to complete. During a guided tour (5 stations in 2.5 hours), you will learn how to use a divining rod and recognize the most important and most frequent energy fields you are likely to encounter.
Further information can be found in the region's divining-rod brochure!
This guided hike with expert herbalist Trude Schwaiger is a memorable experience amid the world of wild herbs and plants that grow in natural meadows and along the forest's edge. For over 2 hours, forget hectic daily life and immerse yourself in the amazing diversity of nature. In conclusion, you will also be able to sample a number of herbal products.
During a hike through the gorge, you will see first-hand how the area's geology was transformed through the millennia. You will also be able to learn a lot about native flora and fauna.
This beautiful hike ends at the ruins of Castle Wolkenstein, with its wonderful views out across Ennstal Valley. Your children, too, will be playfully involved in this marvelous hike.
Other guided hikes: gorge, herb path, Europa Village.
Museum Schloss Trautenfels presents the natural and cultural history of Ennstal and the Ausseerland in Styria. The museum's baroque architecture and design is also very impressive.
